Privacy Policy

SoNex uses secure cloud processing by default so detection keeps improving across all your devices out of the box. Short audio clips, detection events and volume corrections are uploaded over HTTPS and processed on our servers. You agree to this at sign-up, and you can switch SoNex to on-device-only mode any time in Settings → Privacy ("Keep my data on this device"), which stops all uploads immediately.

Audio for improvement ("Let SoNex learn my home")

This is on by default (you agree at sign-up, and there is an in-app confirmation when you change it). SoNex uploads short audio clips to improve the detection model. We are clear about exactly what happens:

Purpose only: the audio is used solely to train and improve SoNex's detection. Nothing else.
Never shared: it is not sold, rented, or shared with any third party.
Auto-deleted after training: once a training run has used a clip, that clip is deleted automatically — audio is not retained after it has served its single purpose.
Fully revocable: turn it off any time in Settings; collection stops immediately and SoNex switches to fully on-device processing.
Secure: clips are transmitted over HTTPS and stored in access-controlled storage until deletion.

What we store

With an account: your email and a salted password hash. With consents enabled: detection events, volume corrections, and (only with "Let SoNex learn my home") short audio clips that are deleted right after training.

Your rights

Export everything we hold or delete it — in the app (Settings → Delete all my data) or via the API. Deletion removes database rows and stored files.

Email

We send one-time verification codes and password-reset codes via Brevo. No marketing email without separate opt-in.
